He was seventeen years old.  I did not talk to this boy.  Our lives did not intersect and we shared almost nothing in common.  We lived in two separate worlds but I watched him from afar.  He was studious and  worked hard, awkward but always taking the time and the effort to talk to you, befriend you.  There is not one time that I can remember him speaking out in anger or lashing out in frustration.  There is not one time that I remember him aggravating or provoking anyone.  He was a gentle person, a shy intellectual giant who had a future ahead of him.
If he applied EA/ED, his results should be returning this week.  Letters from schools that he struggled for years to get into, will say “Congratulation, Terence!  You were admitted to…”  Schools that he will now not be attending.  He will never experience college.  He will never matriculate and go on to grad school.  He will never get a job and know what a promotion or a raise feels like.  He will never have a wedding and have a wife.  He will never have children.  He will not die of old age.  He will not have the comfort of knowing he lived a full and rich life.  This man is gone, and with him, all his hopes, dreams, unrealized ambitions, unspent time, youth, energy, endless possibilities and experiences.
Gone.
Rest well.

look at that smile..

He went to McAuliffe too… things like this make me sick. RIP Terence.

Rest in Peace.
